Composer. Singer. Musician. Performer.
Kirsten Paludan is a multi-faceted musical artist who shares her unique vision of the world through genre defying music that is both confidently ingenious and achingly beautiful.
"...one of the purest, most unaffected voices around." The Pitch Weekly
"...[she woos] the listener with comely melodies that unfold gently..." The Lawrence Journal World
"Paludan's enigmatic voice wafts like a siren…a compelling vocal style – brooding and darkly elegant, powered by low gear intensity, ethereal yet concrete..." PresentMagazine.com
Hailing from Kansas, singer/songwriter Kirsten Paludan's music evokes the landscape of the plains – the contrast of gentle, rolling hills and austere, open stretches of land; the stunning, stark beauty of a Midwestern sunset. An eclectic mix of folk, Americana, alt-country, and soul (with a twinge of electronica), her "masterful, world-weary voice" sets the tone throughout the music, drawing the listener in with a "seductive delivery [that] is ethereal, almost ghostly".
Performing regularly in Kansas City, she is one of the area's most respected musicians – in the studio, on stage, and in film. Her band Olympic Size has been featured nationally on MTV's "Real World: Sydney" and in the full length documentary "72 Musicians". As a solo artist, she has shared the stage with legendary indie acts such as Juliana Hatfield and Missy Higgins. Paludan's debut CD "Princess in the Tower" is available on iTunes and CDBaby.
